Uhuru's spokesman beaten up by an MP

Friday May 25, 2012 - Uhuru's spokesman was on Sunday beaten up by an MP from Central Kenya after he drank himself silly and abused patrons at a city pub.

Trouble started   after this guy started bragging how he will buy a Range Rover if Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta wins the presidency and started infuriating revelers who had joined the celebration.

It is at one instance; the man grabbed one of the female patrons and started uncovering her “short dress”. This saw him receive a dog’s beating after the MP was infuriated by his behavior.

Later the bouncers at the club also joined with kicks and blows as they frog-matched the man out of the pub.

The spokesman sustained minor facial injuries and after recuperating at his home in Woodley, he is said to be in stable condition to work.

I BELIEVE NOT

When I think about the world I would like to leave to my children and the grandchildren I hope to have, it is a world that moves away from unequal, unpeaceful, unstable, unsustainable interdependence to integrated communities that share the characteristics of all successful communities. I would like to live behind a nation that tribe isn't the criterion used to offer opportunities. A world where region does not determine the kind of service be given. An equality sensitive society free from nepotism.

Many times we engage in political discourse assuming everyone is at par with one another regarding their knowledge or understanding of our country’s history in general and political history in particular. This is actually not the case and helps explain why people are constantly talking past each other, especially in the Kenyan social fora and networks.

Of particular concern, is the ridicule and disrespect many of our heroes and heroines are subjected to by a generation which we can condemn for their disrespecting these heroes and heroines but the reality is those doling the ridicule and disrespect actually have no clue who the people they insult or disrespect are or what their contribution has been in both the first and second liberation of our country.

If they are not old enough to have witnessed the struggles and sacrifices by these heroes and heroines, one would expect they had to have learned about them in our school system for I doubt bad as our education system might be, one cannot surely graduate from it beyond primary school without knowing these basic facts about our country such as who our heroes and heroines are and why they deserve the honor and respect, not the insults and abuse these uninformed individuals hurl at them.

Granted, a vast majority of people merely parrot what they have heard others saying without any critical examination of the information; in fact, without any examination of the validity or truthfulness of the information at all and to hear them authoritatively repeat the nonsense, you’ll be confused to believe they know what they are talking about when they, in fact, don’t have a clue.

When a true reformist and hero of the Second Liberation such as Hon. Gitobu Imanyara is accosted by thugs and ordered at gun point to pledge his allegiance to Uhuru Kenyatta and so reports in our Parliament, one would surely expect event those who for one reason or another don’t like him or even hate him would have to pause and wonder whether there is not something wrong here.

The well respected reformist Imanyara is no coward or pushover neither is he one prone to seek publicity through antics like crying wolf as some have spitefully suggested in these fora.

Anyone who knows him or anything about our country’s history, even if limited only to the Second Liberation would know Imanyara is one of those who was right up there standing against Moi and his regime without fear.

Ditto for heroes like Raila Amolo Odinga and many others who have been the subjects of torture and abuse all because of their desire to have a better Kenya with the freedoms we now enjoy thanks to them but others are thanking them by belittling and trashing their efforts while insulting and saying hateful things precisely because of those freedoms the Railas helped acquire for them, which is both mean and bizarre.

Ironically but true, many of those leading in insulting and trashing of our heroes and heroines in the reform efforts are people who cannot account for even an iota of a thing they have done for our country, let alone any sacrifice they have made but they are quick to laugh and belittle Imanyara’s in the latest example for his letting the public know of a life and death experience he is lucky to be alive to tell us about.

Do these people have no heart? What accounts for the callousness of some of these people? It can’t even be hate for I can’t think of any reason why anyone would hate Imamara to the point they would laugh and belittle what smacks of an assassination attempt on his life!

While the extent of it is not known, there is clearly a growing callousness among Kenyans fueled by politicians who are always stoking tribal animosity and hatred for their own individual benefit yet, those enabling them are not the uneducated masses or those who otherwise are uninformed but, quite shockingly and pathetically so, the enablers are the very educated and enlightened among us.

Why? Why would these people who are educated and informed be hell-bent on enabling tribalists and haters in our country? What perverted satisfaction do they derive from such backwardness and thinking?

It surely cannot be any tangible gain for many stand to gain not a penny when the tribalists succeed in using them to gain power much as the hapless youth often used in political violence don’t gain but the pennies to the shilling they may momentarily gain in their induced barbaric acts in support of those who would exploit them.

But the so-called Kenyan professionals or otherwise educated Kenyans proactively engaged in, or allowing themselves to be used in cheer-leading the haters and dividers; why do they do so?

It makes absolutely no sense and is simply horrifying the fact we have people like this amongst us!
We really, seriously need to pray for our country for if these people do not wake up and smell the coffee, it’s going to be that much difficult to move our country forward to the much anticipated dawn of true peace and prosperity we deserve after all these many wasted years of independence.

It is so shameful that a person can stand on the podium, copy paste a speech and try to entice us with promises of addressing social injustices if elected president, when in-fact, these injustices brought about the wealth he so much enjoys. If we are not familiar with these injustices, they are, among them:
·         Landlessness due to land grabbing by Kenyatta, Moi and the kinds
·         Detention without trial of the renown liberators (among them Raila Odinga)
·           Assassinations (e.g. Robert Ouko, tom Mboya, Prof. Mbai, among others)
·      Segregation of some communities that were, apparently, not in power (North Eastern, Coast, Western, Luo Nyanza, etc)

Did you know that majority of dwellers in Taita Taveta are squatters in their ancestral land? To address this Uhuru Kenyatta should simply call a family meeting and surrender the title deeds to these people, whom he hopes they vote for him.

The good news is, a vast majority of Kenyans are now more progressive or moving in that direction and reject all this backwardness and willful ignorance which must be shunned by all who care about our beloved country if we are to stand proud to be called the Kenyans we are.

In other words, stand on the side of those who would make our country once again a country to be proud of and a shining star in the continent, if not the world which by definition means shedding tribalism, hate and all other manner of behavior that divides instead of uniting us as Kenyans.

This I believe

Better The Devil You Know Than The Angel You Don't Know

The saying that goes,"Better The Devil You Know Than The Angel You Don't Know" has been with us since our time age. Most of us fail to apply this saying in our life time when challenge is on dot.The notable man who failed to hid to the applications of this saying is Kenyan Deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi. In this instance, the "Devil" he knew was Prime Minister Raila Odinga/ODM and the "Angels " he don't know are DPM Uhuru Kenyatta and Hon William Ruto/The G7 Fraternity.
Hon.Musalia Mudavadi is now cornered and headed to political oblivion. The major aim of G7 to sweet talk Hon Musalia Mudavadi from ODM was non other than to weaken PM Railaa Odinga. It might have worked but it has complicated matters for G7 coz their compromise candidate Hon Musalia Mudavadi is gonna be rendered irrelevant simply because, the Hague proceedings will not hinder DPM Uhuru Kenyatta and Hon.William Samoei Ruto from contesting the Kenya's Presidency. In this case, the presidential race will definitely go to run off between PM Raila Odinga and DPM Uhuru Kenyatta, and it is at this point when Kenyans eyes shall be wide open.DPM Uhuru Kenyatta will loose to PM Raila Odinga coz,due to historical injustices,Kamatusa,Luhyas and Coast population will not vote for a Gema candidate.DPM Musalia Mudavadi failed to read in between the lines when Kamatusa and Gema said,"If Uhuru and Ruto are not in the race, they will back him" The begging question Hon Musalia Mudavadi failed to crack was,why "IF?"

EXCLUSIVE: A PNU cabinet Minister infected me with HIV/AIDS

EXCLUSIVE: A PNU cabinet Minister infected me with HIV/AIDS

Jatelo

Disclaimer: Please sit down before reading this real life story ordeal narrated to the Kenya DAILY POST.
Elizabeth Wanjiru ‘Shiro’ is a young lady whose life history has unfolded in a way she never envisioned. 2007 was a big year for her. She was a young, beautiful, healthy, perfectly endowed and charismatic student at the University of Nairobi. Her zeal and ambition in life was overflowing.
Elizabeth was quite vocal and active in campus politics. An avenue that her fellow female mates refrained from. She pushed for agendas and actively participated in motions in the university’s political sphere. This made the then Secretary General of SONU, G.G Kariuki notice her.
Kariuki approached her with a proposal. He wanted to have her in a project dubbed as ‘Vijana na Kibaki’ - an initiative aiming at conglomerating the youth in support of Kibaki’s second presidential bid. The young individuals were meant to advocate for the president to have a second term in office and in reward were flooded with hefty allowances. Shiro like many other University students survived on a shoe string budget. Making some cash outside the pocket money she received from home sounded like the ideal plot.
She was the only female in the 8 member group. Her presence in the group was meant to alter the composition of the group to seem like it was gender sensitive. The group kicked off with a lot of vigour. Days flew. Contacts were made. Her presence was felt….
*……*…..*……*…..*
One day, a youth meeting was held at the PNU headquarters bringing together diverse campus representatives. The meeting was only meant for those in PNU’s pay roll. In attendance were individuals such as Sylvester Kweyu , the then Kenyatta University Students Union (KUSA) chairman. Additionally, Mike who was a Secretary General of one of the Universities was also in the congregation.
The meeting went on well until KU’s Mwenda Gitobu noticed that Mike was in the congregation. He shot up halting the meeting, firing accusations that the meeting had been sabotaged by ODM snitches.
Note:  At the time, bad blood was precipitating between ODM and PNU. The situation was nasty with some individuals swearing to die to keep their partisan loyalty alive.
A scuffle mushroomed between the two groups causing chaos in the area. The meeting was being held at a house next to the DOD (Department of Defence ) along Lenana Road, where the PNU HQ’s were located. Other executive officials of the party were in attendance and were situated in an office just opposite the press area where the youth were. A trail down the headquarters led to some rented external public toilets.
Having heard the noise made from the scuffle, a powerful PNU Cabinet Minister came to calm the situation down. Since time immemorial, the Minister has always held top respected positions in Government. His influential nature calmed the situation down.
Shiro in a bid to ease the chaos tension, walked down to the loos to relieve herself. Coincidentally, Mheshimiwa also headed to the ‘Public loos’ to take a breather. There, he met the beautiful Shiro and introduced himself. The two gave each other their compliments and exchanged numbers. A friendship bond was formed. Little did she know that this friendship would grow to something more.
*…..*……*……*…..
Shiro forged a head viewing that the meeting with the Minister was just but a contact she had created. The  following week she attended a PNU meeting at Manor house situated in Manor Lane in Karen.(Manor is a posh exclusive avenue where a fairy tale wedding was once conducted by Kiss 100 as a reward to its avid listeners. ) The group of 8 campus representatives spent the night there. However, on the day that the group was meant to leave, the PNU Cabinet Minister called up Elizabeth. He told her that he had sent his driver to pick her up as he longed to see her again.
True to his word, he sent an exquisite limousine that drove her to the Serena Hotel where the two had late lunch and spent some time getting familiar with each another.  They continued their rendezvous and sooner than later they became more than friends.
Years passed. Kibaki retained his position as the president of the Republic. The Post Election Violence almost consumed the country. By the time the situation had calmed down, Elizabeth was through with campus. Hungry for a job, she consulted the Mheshimiwa who through his influence got her a job at Kenya Re-Insurance. Shiro was not the type to date young men who she deemed to be immature. She now had herself a rich sponsor (Mheshimiwa) who bought her a lavish car and a beautiful apartment in Nairobi’s South B area. How to spend money was what the big question for her now. Her love life with Mheshimiwa flourished….
However, in 2010 she began falling ill. A cold wouldn’t leave her side. One day as she was driving from her parent’s house in Thika suburbs, she decided to check in St. Francis Hospital in Mwiki. The doctors carried tests on her and after taking her blood samples found out that she was HIV positive. She was shocked beyond belief. She had been faithful to Mheshimiwa, had he returned the favour? No. Intriguingly, he was quite aware of his health status and had kept it a secret. He had ruined her years of hard work and spiked her future.
Late last year she called Classic 105 Breakfast show and narrated her ordeal to Maina Kageni and King’ang’i in the morning. As she spoke one would tell that she was engraved in so much pain. Her conclusion in the show was simple, if she went back in time, she would never hook up with the Minister. In her words she says, “He gave me everything that mattered then, but took away everything that I need now…”
“We live and we learn….To take one step at a time. There’s no need to rush. It’s like learning to fly, or falling in love. It’s gonna happen when it’s supposed to happen. And we find the reasons why. One step at a time….” These are lyrics of a song by RnB artist Jordin Sparks that Shiro wishes she listened to years back.
Elizabeth Wanjiru has vowed to go public in 2013 (After elections) and tell her story even name the Minister. She aims at campaigning against the animosity that influential politicians subject innocent girls to.
We at the DAILY POST thank her for giving us the exclusive interview at 680 Hotel in town. We will continue supporting her emotionally.
All the best Shiro

UHURU TRIES TO CENSOR THUO PHOTO

THE man photographed with Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta at the Hague was tried and acquitted for robbery with violence in 2005. Uhuru has gone to the constitutional court to urgently block any further publication of stories or photographs about Joseph Njoroge Thuo, ex-Mungiki leader Maina Njenga and himself. The case will be heard at 9am on Monday morning.
Uhuru's lawyer argues that any publication by the Star would constitute hate speech and violate Uhuru's right to a good reputation. "This is a blatant attempt at censorship. The facts are not disputed. Thuo was in the Hague beside Uhuru and Thuo was involved in a fracas with Maina Njenga. If the Deputy Prime Minister has a problem with the story, let him sue the Star for libel instead of wasting the time of the constitutional court," said Catherine Gicheru, Editor of the Star last night.
The offending Star story on April 24 was headlined 'Uhuru denies link to Njenga gunman'. Maina Njenga had claimed on Sunday April 22 at his church that Thuo had been sent to assassinate him. Alongside the story, the Star ran a photo of Uhuru in the Hague in September with Thuo apparently standing behind him, and a photo of Thuo at the church. The photos were headlined 'Is this the same man?'
Director of Communications Munyori Buku denied any link between Thuo and Uhuru. “There is no way the DPM could have known all the people who were at The Hague. Many people travelled on their own and they were paying for themselves,” said Buku at the time.
“During a press conference, anyone can stand behind the person making the address. You don’t expect the person addressing the press to know all the people standing behind him,” said Buku in reference to the photo of Uhuru at The Hague with Thuo.
On October 1, 2011 the Nation also published a photo of Uhuru laughing with Thuo at the Hague. The Nation photo caption specifically identified Thuo. The Nation and Star photos were sent to media houses from the Hague by Lawrence Maingi, Uhuru's official press photographer. Internal Security minister George Saitoti is expected in Parliament today to answer a question by Gwassi MP John Mbadi over the identity of Thuo.
On April 22, Thuo was beaten up at the Hope International Ministry church after Njenga's supporters found a gun in his car while he was meeting the ex-Mungiki leader. Four CID officers who came to investigate were also roughed up by Njenga's youth. Mbadi has demanded to know if Thuo is a licensed gun holder, when he was issued with a firearm and under what circumstances. Saitoti is also expected to provide details of the men who accompanied Thuo to Njenga's church and clarify whether they are licensed gun holders.
The businessman behind the Thuo Investment Company was questioned last year by police over the murder of former Kiambu County chairman Boniface Njenga Mweru who was shot dead by armed men on June 1, 2011 in Githiga. Mweru had been a business partner in the Thuo Investment Company until eight months earlier.
Central Province AP boss Joseph Keitany said thugs in a Silver Prado Land Cruiser belonging to Thuo Investments killed Mweru after he was stopped by a girl. When Njenga stopped, he was shot three times in the head at point blank range by a Ceska pistol. Police in Kiambu are yet to prosecute anyone in connection with the murder.
According to police file CR 216/148/2011, Thuo was questioned on June 3 by CID Kiambu over the murder of Mweru. Thuo told police that he was in his office in Thika when Mweru was killed.
Another robbery with violence case against Thuo was terminated on October 24, 2007 by then Nairobi Principal Magistrate Lilian Mutende who ruled that the prosecution had failed to prove their case. The magistrate said police had violated Thuo's constitutional rights by holding him for six months at Kamiti prison before pressing charges. Thuo was charged with violently robbing Raman Patel of Sh100,000 and impersonating a police officer on October 1, 2005.
On April 24, the Star received a threatening email from josephthuonjoroge@gmail.com, the same day it published the photos of Thuo in the Hague and at Hope International Church.
The email threatened the Star's Thika correspondent James Wainaina who wrote a story last June about Mweru's murder. "If you don't know me by now, I kill customers, employees and rats like James Wainaina," the email stated.Thuo denied at the time that he had sent the email. "I do not know anything about the email. Whoever has done that could have stolen my identity or wants you people to believe it is me. That is someone who is not a right thinking member of society. That is someone who is an extortionist," Thuo told the Star. On May 5 the Star filed a complaint with Kilimani Police station after Thuo threatened an editor.
Thuo visited the Star offices on Waiyaki Way on May 2 and threatened the Regional News Editor Joseph Olweny. He angrily said he had lost a Sh96 million business deal because the Star had published photos of him in the Hague and at Njenga's church.  He told the editor that he could have the offices bombed or wrecked by 200 goons, and that he could make him disappear by putting him in a pot of acid.
On May 7 he phoned the Star and struck a more conciliatory tome. Thuo said that he had travelled to the Hague as a friend of Uhuru to provide moral support. He confirmed he was the man in the Star photo with Uhuru, blogger Dennis Itumbi and Jeff Koinange of K24. He claimed he could delink Uhuru from Mungiki because he understood the workings of the group and that he used to provide legal advice to Maina Njenga.
On April 25, a PNU minister close to Uhuru called Star Political Editor Paul Ilado and requested that the pictures of Thuo and Uhuru in the Hague should not be published again.
"The Star agreed to honour the request. But Uhuru has declared war by trying to censor us through the constitutional court. So now let the photos speak for themselves," said Star Editor Catherine Gicheru last night.

REVEALED: The real father of Musalia Mudavadi’s last born speaks

Wednesday, 9th May 2012 - For a long time, eyebrows have been raised on Musalia Mudavadi’s last born kid. Mudavadi  Junior has sparked murmurs behind the politicians back due to his unique features.

Critically, the Deputy Prime Minister’s son looks like a cross-breed of an Indian and a Luhya. Many have concluded that this might be due to a genetic recessive trait and refrained from commenting on the political giant’s son. Others close to the DPM have thought that the kid was fathered by Musalia’s Mombasa based Indian ally Basil Criticos

The situation is worsened by rumors that allege that the UDF’s presidential candidate is semi-impotent. Musalia is renowned for keeping his family life private. Recently, the incisive Kenyan DAILY POST got some scoop on this issue.

Interestingly, it seems like the rumors are true. Apparently Mudavadi’s wife Tessie Mudavadi, had an affair with a chemist owner who is now residing in Bombay. Tessie is renowned for raising awareness on Cancer after surviving breast Cancer.  The chemist owner known as Dipul Shah has come out of the closet and revealed how he got to father Mudavadi’s son

Here is his story. “I was working in my uncle’s chemist based in Nairobi. The Mudavadis used to come there to purchase drugs, actually Mr.Mudavadi had a problem ‘getting it up’ as in -he was semi impotent.

I used to prescribe to the couple a drug similar to viagra but not as effective because as u know it was still in the 80s. So one evening when we were about to close Shop Tessie mudavadi walked in alone. As usual I immediately placed the prescribed drugs on the shelf because i knew what she wanted....but that day she was just smiling.

She said she was not there for the drugs but wanted me to go with her somewhere as it was urgent. I could not refuse as these were my good customers. I told Deepak, my cousin that I needed to run some errands. As we drove with Tessie in her Mercedes benz i got to know that her husband (then finance minister) was out of the country on official duties.

As soon as we got to her house in Upper Lavington, Tessy told me to feel free as she wanted to put on something more comfortable. I was served juice and soft music was played for me to listen to. A few moments later I saw Tessie dressed in sexy red lingerie and had a flower in her mouth. She was now crawling towards me like a cheetah and was even making some sexy tiger roars...the rest is history...

This begs the question does Mudavadi keep a low profile on his family because he has skeletons to hide?
