A Dish of Ice Cream

In the days when an ice cream sundae cost much less, a 10 year old boy entered a hotel coffee shop and sat at a table. A waitress put a glass of water in front of him.
“How much is an ice cream sundae?”
“50 cents,” replied the waitress.
The little boy pulled his hand out of his pocket and studied a number of coins in it.
“How much is a dish of plain ice cream?” he inquired. Some people were now waiting for a table and the waitress was a bit impatient.
“35 cents,” she said brusquely.
The little boy again counted the coins. “I’ll have the plain ice cream,” he said.
The waitress brought the ice cream, put the bill on the table and walked away. The boy finished the ice cream, paid the cashier and departed.
When the waitress came back, she began wiping down the table and then swallowed hard at what she saw.

There, placed neatly beside the empty dish, were 15 cents – her tip.

JESUS THE BRAND

What advertising agencies do for their clients, we're called to do for Christ.
You've probably heard these slogans: "Just do it," "Drivers wanted," and "It's everywhere you want to be." And you've almost certainly heard of Nike, Volkswagen, and Visa; however, you probably have never heard of the advertising agencies that coined those slogans: Wieden & Kennedy; Arnold Communications; and Batten, Barton, Durstine & Osborn.

In a lot of ways, we're supposed to be like those advertising agencies. We are called to proclaim the name of Jesus to the entire world; we're not called to proclaim the name of our denomination, our ministry, our church, or our pastor.

Compare how often you talk about your church or your pastor versus how often you talk about Jesus.

When unbelievers see Christianity, I can't help but wonder how many of them simply see a bunch of denominations fighting about petty issues: Contemporary vs. traditional worship? Drums and guitar vs. organ and hymns? Powerpoint slides vs. hymn book? Jeans and tee-shirt vs. suit and tie?

Instead, wouldn't our testimony to the world be so much better if, with one voice, we proclaimed "Jesus!"? In Romans 15:9, Paul writes, Therefore I will praise you among the Gentiles; I will sing hymns to your name. Paul's singular focus was on making the name of Jesus known throughout the world.

It's not about your church, your ministry, your Bible study, your small group, or your denomination. Your single focus should be on shouting the name of Jesus to all peoples. Your life should be a walking advertisement for the hope, peace, and joy that's available to all people in Christ.

The Elephant Rope

https://youtu.be/4VAEYGcR9c8

As a man was passing the elephants, he suddenly stopped, confused by the fact that these huge creatures were being held by only a small rope tied to their front leg. No chains, no cages. It was obvious that the elephants could, at anytime, break away from their bonds but for some reason, they did not.

He saw a trainer nearby and asked why these animals just stood there and made no attempt to get away. “Well,” trainer said, “when they are very young and much smaller we use the same size rope to tie them and, at that age, it’s enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free.”
The man was amazed. These animals could at any time break free from their bonds but because they believed they couldn’t, they were stuck right where they were.
Like the elephants, how many of us go through life hanging onto a belief that we cannot do something, simply because we failed at it once before?
Failure is part of learning; we should never give up the struggle in life.

Anne Waiguru's Salvation

It's high time madam Anne Waiguru just came out clean on this NYS scandal issue once for all. This would be the only way if she wants to be trusted with the Nairobi gubernatorial vote. She is a woman who had all going on for her like a wife to the most powerful man in a kingdom. A woman who had many women, young and old, envying her stature.
Many wonder, we still wonder, who she is in the paradox of this government. If money was lost, and indeed she planned the whole thing and even promised a senior member of CID a promotion after the job was rendered,..... she must be the queen.
A group will jeer me, while an elite will reconnoiter to shoot my story, but a multitude will rejoice for my brave intelligence. That is who I am.

Shake off Your Problems

A man's favorite donkey falls into a deep precipice; He can't pull it out no matter how hard he tries; He therefore decides to bury it alive.
Soil is poured onto the donkey from above. The donkey feels the load, shakes it off, and steps on it; More soil is poured.
It shakes it off and steps up; The more the load was poured, the higher it rose; By noon, the donkey was grazing in green pastures.

After much shaking off (of problems) And stepping up (learning from them), One will graze in GREEN PASTURES. #iAmKlassik #Talk2Santo

ADVICE TO LADIES!!!

The moment you agree to date a married man, you agree to be a second class woman, and every second class person is classified as a person of lower values.

Now look at it this way.. If he is with you &  his wife calls, he lies that he is still at the office or on an official assignment. You dare not  interrupt his conversation or query him. But you can't call him when he is at home with family.....

My sisters, you be toy? He sneaks you from his car into his hotel room but gives his wife his entire home.....

My beloved sisters grow up, please! He visits you at home & you introduce him to friends & neighbours as your boyfriend thereby blocking your chances of getting a genuine suitor, yet you don't even know the name of the street where he lives.....

My sisters, how long will you continue to sacrifice your future? He takes you out & buys you assorted types of alcoholic drinks, yet he will never allow his wife taste  even a drop of alcoholic drink. Common sense should tell you he is only doing that to get you drunk so he can truly destroy you in bed......

My dear sisters, na your body good pass for experiment? He gets you pregnant & gives you money for abortion, but when his wife gets pregnant he celebrates & gives her money for antenatal & baby things......

My sisters remember he is already raising his family. Oh just in case you don't know, he describes your reactions during sex when he is with his friends but will never mention whatever happens between him & his wife. This makes all his friends see a lesser human in you......

My sisters, na your matter them take they drink beer ooo. He gives you a few cash & you're happy not knowing that whatever money he gives you is what he calls "Body no be firewood allowances" You have his picture on your phone & saved his number as "My Sweetheart" or whatever, yet your picture cannot be found on his phone & your number is saved on his phone as generator mechanic or refuse dispose........

My lovely sisters, you be learner? PLEASE let's give ourselves a proper re-evaluation today. Please help me to pass this message round to educate our ladies by tagging each & everyone on your page!

LENT

Ash Wednesday
Joel 2:12-18

2 Corinthians 5:20—6:2
Matthew 6:1-6, 16-18

SPIRITUAL WAR
“See now is the acceptable time; See now is the day of salvation!” – 2 Cor 6:2

In one winter day a man was travelling with his camel. When night came the man pitched his tent and slept inside. At midnight the camel called out asking the man allow it to just put its nose in the tent because it was freezing outside. The man allowed the camel to put only its nose.

After some time the camel asked to just put its head in the tent and promised not to bother the man again. The man allowed it. After an hour the camel asked to put just the neck and was allowed. After some time the front legs, and then the stomach.

The story ends with the camel having entered fully in the tent and eventually kicking the man out of the tent.

A sincere close examination of ourselves shows us that, just as the camel slowly entered the tent, SIN, evil has also slowly entered us. Sin, and addiction, bad habit has taken full control of the tent, of us. We are in a mess; we are dirty, broken and wounded. We are spiritually dead.

Today is a day we are invited to begin our Lenten period, the call is a call to fight, to wedge a war against Sin. This war is a spiritual warfare and the 2nd reading says today is the day the war begins and will last us 40 days – period of lent.

The battle we are fighting is a war of conversion, a war of change, a war of returning back to God. The Greek work for conversion is metanoia, – meaning a total, complete, thorough change of the whole person, mind-set, the heart, orientation, worldview, whole being. It is a complete, 360 degrees turning around.

It is a battle to reposes our tent, our innocence, our purity, our holiness. This is not easy because Satan, sin wants to remain in our tent. Are you ready to fight the camel out? Our opening today says:

“Grant, O Lord, that we may begin with holy fasting this campaign of Christian service, so that, as we take up battle against spiritual evils, we may be armed with weapons of self-restraint.”

We are given 3 weapons:
Fasting – a voluntary self-denial in order to sharpen our appetite for the spiritual.
Prayer – personal encounter with God
Almsgiving – personal encounter with the poor.

Fasting helps us to tame/drill our bodies. There is no person who can overcome mortal sin, addictions and temptations without fasting. Fasting and other ascetic practices strengthen your will and spirit in the battle against the flesh. The prophet calls “Even now return to me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning; and tear your hearts…” (Joel 2:12).

As you receive the ashen cross, know that change is possible, your victory is at hand, God wants you to change, God wants you to come back. Take advantage of this day of repentance and renewal. Paul even cries out louder “We beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God” (2Cor 5:20).

Prayerfully read Psalm 51

Wishing you a fruitful day of fasting

WORDS FROM A FATHER TO A SON ABOUT MARRIAGE

1. My son, if you keep spending on a woman and she never asked you if you’re saving or investing, and she keeps enjoying the attention, don’t marry her.
2. My son, a woman could be a good wife to you, some could be a good mother to your children but if you’ve found a woman like a mother to you, your children and your family, please don’t let her go.
3. My son, don’t confine the position of your wife to the kitchen, where did you get that from? Even in our days, we had farm-lands where they worked every morning . . . that was our office.
4. My son, if I tell you that you’re the head of the house, don’t look at your pocket; look if you will see a smile on your wife’s face.
5. My son, if you want to have a long life, let your wife be in-charge of your salary, it will be difficult for her to spend it when she’s aware of the home needs and bills to pay but if it’s in your care, she will keep you asking even when all has been spent.
6. My son, don’t ever beat your woman, the pain in her body is nothing to be compared to the wound on her heart and that means you may be in trouble living with a wounded woman.
7. My son, now that you’re married, if you live a bachelor kind of life with your wife, you will soon be single again.
8. My son, in our days, we had many wives and many children because of our large farm-lands and many harvests, there are hardly any land for farming anymore, so embrace your woman closely.
9. My son, under the cocoa tree that I did meet your mother could be your eateries and restaurants of nowadays, but remember, the closet thing we did there was to embrace each other.
10. My son, don’t be carried away when you start making more money, instead of spending on those tiny legs that never knew how hard you worked to get it, spend it on that woman that stood by you all along.
11. My son, when I threw little stones or whistled at the window of your mother father’s house, to call her out, it was not for sex, it was because I missed her so much.
12. My son, remember, when you say your wife has changed, there could be something you’ve stopped doing too.
13. My son, your mother, Asake rode the bicycle with me before I bought that tortoise car outside there, any woman that won’t endure with you in your little beginning should not enjoy your riches.
14. My son, don’t compare your wife to any woman, there are ways she’s enduring you too and has she ever compared you to any man?
15. My son, there is this thing you people call feminism, well, if a woman claim to have equal right with you in the house, divide all the bills into two equal parts, take one part and ask her to start paying the other part.
16. My son, I met your mother a virgin and I took more yams to her father, if you don’t meet your wife a virgin, don’t blame her, what I didn’t tell you is that our women had prestige.
17. My son, I didn’t send your sisters to school because I was foolish like many to think a female child won’t extend my family name, please don’t make that mistake, the kind of female achievers I see nowadays has made the male-gender an ordinary tag.
18. My son, your mother have once locked up the cloth I was wearing and almost tore it because she was angry, I did not raise my hand to beat her because of a day like this, so that I can be proud to tell you that I never for once beat your mother.
19. My son, in our days, our women had more of natural beauty, though I wouldn’t lie to you, some had minor painting of their appellation mostly on their arms, the ones you people now call tattoo, but don’t forget that they didn’t expose any part of their body like your women of nowadays.
20. My son, your mother and I are not interested in what happens in your marriage, try to handle issues without always coming to us.
21. My son, remember I bought your mother’s first sewing machine for her, help your wife achieve her dreams just as you’re pursuing yours.
22. My son, don’t stop taking care of me and your mother, it’s a secret of growing old and having children to take care of you too.
23. My son, pray with your family, there is a tomorrow you don’t know, talk to God that knows everything, everyday.
NICE ADVICE!!!
